Lucas is professor of Sociology, PhD in Economics and Bachelor in Information Sciences at the Bilbao University.
Professional Career:
From 1969 to 2015, Dr. Lucas have been a professor at the Universities of Navarra, Santander, Oviedo and Complutense de Madrid. Teaching and attending congresses and seminars in almost all Spanish provinces and in more than sixty countries around the world.
He has spent two sabbatical years researching and teaching at Stanford University (1997-1998) and Peking University (2007-2008). Antonio Lucas have published a dozen books that are available on the Internet, he also has been editor and participated with chapters in a hundred more books and published another hundred journal articles
Becoming professor emeritus at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2016, he has continued to be active in teaching and research, initiating an activity in social networks with a growing group of followers, more than 60 thousand in April 2021.

Dr. Antonio Lucas main lines of research are:
– Participation and industrial democracy: models of industrial relations.
– Mass media and social construction of reality – Communication and culture in organizations.
– The construction of the social structure (theoretical aspects).
– Social effects of new information technologies.
– Online versus traditional teaching: measures of effectiveness.
– The expansion of communicative capacity: new models and ICT.
Currently, Lucas send every day a «selection of information» with a sociological approach, four or five topics of interest, about the social reality (especially Spanish, European, American and Chinese), and special attention to the process of modernization, organizations, communication and new technologies. He publish a monthly Newsletter in the social networks and annually a Bulletin with the hundred topics published during the year based on tree topic: China, Latin America and New Communications.
