Sheps holds a strong educational background, with studies in industrial engineering and management, as well as an MBA degree and a PhD in Economics.
Professional Career:
During his tenure as President and CEO of Carlsberg group companies, Dr. Sheps played pivotal roles in Romania, Serbia, Croatia, South East Europe, the UK, and Russia. He was also a member of the Carlsberg Group Executive
Committee, serving as Senior Vice President Eastern Europe, responsible for all former Soviet Union countries. Notably, he chaired the Russian Beer Association during his time in Russia.Before joining Carlsberg, Isaac held prominent positions in the electronic and electro-optic industries in Israel. Prior to his civilian career, he served in the Israel Air Force for 15 years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions in promoting Danish products abroad, Dr. Sheps was honored with Denmark's Royal Medal of Honor in May 2013.
Professional Activities:
For the past 27 years, he has been an active member of the international committee ISO/TC176, which is responsible for developing the ISO 9000 family of standards. He has authored numerous papers on topics such as managing for sustained organizational success, quality management, and productivity. In collaboration with others, he coauthored the book 'The Journey – Achieving Sustained Organizational Success,' published in May 2019 by ASQ Quality
Press. His work in the field of standardization has earned him the ASQ Freund Marquardt Medal.
Since September 2016, Dr. Sheps has served as the Chair of the Israeli Standard Institute Central Committee for MS Standards, representing the public. Furthermore, as of November 2016, he has been a board member of the NGO ‘Caritatea’ representing the World Jewish Restitution Organization. The NGO is dedicated to the restitution of Jewish community assets in Romania.
Since 2021 Dr. Sheps is Vicepresident of the World Council for Quality.
