Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), with postgraduate studies in Brewing Technology, at the SIEBEL Institute of Technology, in Chicago, Illinois, also at DOEMENS Institute, Gräfelfing, and at the Technical Universities of Berlin and Munich in Germany.
He has participated in many training seminars in the Quality Assurance and Environmental Management areas. He is a Third-Party Quality Auditor, certified by the French Association for Standardization, AFNOR, an Internal Quality Auditor, certified by the German Society for Quality, DGQ, and a Quality Auditor, certified by both the European Organization for Quality, EOQ, and by the Venezuelan accreditation body, SENCAMER.
He was Assistant Professor from the School of Engineering at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), and Professor in the master’s degree in quality systems at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, in Caracas, and in the postgraduate curse at the Faculty of Farmacy of the UCV, for more than 35 years.
Additionally, he is considered an expert in standardization in the Quality, Environmental, Metrological, and Food areas. He is also Past-President of ASONORVEN, the Venezuelan Association for Quality (recently renamed ASOCALIDAD), and of FONDONORMA, the Venezuelan standardization body, where he acted as President of the institution and formerly as Director of the Board.
He represents INLAC-Latin American Institute for Quality (Liaison Member of ISO) as expert in ISO TC 176 Quality, ISO TC 207 Environment, and ISO TC 232 Education, and represented INLAC in TMB WG/SR Social Responsibility in the development of ISO 26000 as delegation`s head of INLAC (Liaison Member D). He is the President of the Venezuela`s Charter of INLAC and member of the Corporate Board of INLAC.
He has worked for more than 47 years for the Brewing Industry as National Manager for Quality at the Beer and Malt Strategic Business Unit of Polar Enterprises, mainly in the Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Metrological, and Environmental areas and during the last 12 years as member of the Board of the Polar Enterprises Foundation, contributing to the Social Development of Venezuelan Citizens by promoting important initiatives in Health, Education and Community Development.
