Professional Career:

After a brief experience at a garden furniture factory, as production manager assistant, He worked for 13 years at the Imperial / Telefunken in Milan, an Italian factory of television sets and radio sets and 11 at the Philips Vision in Monza where television sets were produced. In this long, very constructive period, where training and work went hand in hand, Pietro was able to increase his knowledge, develop his skills and progress in various fields: such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, quality, environment, management systems, business process improvement, sustainable development, etc. 

At the same time his career progressed which, especially in the last period spent at Philips as manager of production quality and relations with suppliers for quality problems, and allowed him to travel and get to know many people and many situations, both in Italy and abroad

Pietro Marcaccio is Co-Founder and President of the Executive Council of «QualitàComuni» (non-profit Association of ISO Certified Municipalities) and  CEO, in Q&A Servizi Qualità e Ambiente s.r.l., company that provides services concerning management consultancy, management systems and sustainable development to private and public; he is also President, Domus Laboris,a non-profit Association for the development and protection of employment.

Professional Activities:

Pietro was the coordinator for the Working Group that has translated and edited for UNI the Italian version of the document «IWA 4: 2009 – Quality management systems – Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001:2008 in local government», issued by ISO and published by UNI as «UNI / TR 11217 – Quality management systems – Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001:2008 in local government.»

He is member of the working group for drafting Guidelines # 37 «Applying the norm UNI EN ISO 9001: 2000 in law firms; Marcaccio is the Head of the Project Group and Responsible for the «Project of Quality Management System of Cornate d’Adda City (MB), first Italian municipality certified ISO 9001 for all services, and Project Manager, Quality Management System, Environmental Management System and Emas of Cirimido and Limido Comasco Municipalities, first municipalities in Italy to be certified, at the same time, “Vision 2000”, ISO 14001 and EMAS registration.

Pietro is the Coordinator of the UNI / CT 016 / GL 40 «Qualità nei servizi» and Speaker, UNI 11855:2022 “Governi Locali – Indicatori di prestazione a supporto dell’applicazione della UNI ISO 18091:2019” and he coordinated the Italian translation of the standard UNI ISO 18091:2019 «Sistemi di gestione per la qualità – Linee guida per l’applicazione della ISO 9001 nei governi locali». 

Pietro Marcaccio was nominated by Italy as a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in the ISO 9001 Technical Committee (TC 176) for the development of the standard ISO 18091 «Quality management systems – Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001 in local government»- Responsible and coordinator for the processes of Quality Management Systems certification, Environment, Safety and Privacy in Industrial and services (public and private) and Total Quality Systems.

He actually, is member of committees / evaluation units for the development of the evaluation system and for the evaluation of personnel in various Municipalities, organices and speaker, courses and seminars on Quality, Process Management and Improvement Teams; and he is management Consultant for various companies and municipalities, especially for innovative projects and outsourcing activities. Marcaccio has published several articles in specialized magazines on quality systems and sustainable development indicators applied to Municipalities.
